10. Cassie Files Lawsuit Against Combs, 2023
On November 16, singer and model Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs accusing him of having abused her for years. The legal action contains descriptions of episodes of abuse where the rapper would have physically and sexually abused her, in addition to having intimidated her and forced her to have sexual relations with male escorts while he watched her. The lawsuit also claimed that Combs blew up Kid Cudi’s car to prevent him from continuing to have a romantic relationship with Cassie. Through a spokesperson, Cudi confirmed the incident. The rapper has denied the accusations and has claimed that his ex-partner tried to blackmail him for $30 million before filing the lawsuit. On November 17, the two reached an agreement for an unknown sum of money. That same day, his attorney Ben Brafman stated that “Mr. Combs’ decision to sign an agreement does not reverse his position of denying the accusations.”
