4. The Attack On Jake Robles, 1995

Combs and Death Row Records co-founder Marion ‘Suge’ Knight were once friends, but the violent rivalry between that label and Bad Boy Records (created by Diddy) began when Knight’s friend and bodyguard, Jake Robles, was shot. outside a nightclub in Atlanta after an argument with Bad Boy’s people. That night, they were celebrating musician Jermaine Dupri’s birthday at the Platinum City nightclub when, as Fulton’s former lieutenant Chris Howard told it, the men from each label began arguing. Howard noted that he directed Combs and his colleagues out of the club, thinking that this way there would be no delays on the coast and he could allow Knight and his men to leave safely.

However, the former officer narrated in the Los Angeles Times: “Knight’s partner was about to get into the limo when, suddenly, Puffy’s guys came out from a corner and one of them was carrying a gun.” Howard said he chased the suspect, who handed the gun to another person and immediately got into a “car carrying Combs’ colleagues.” Robles died weeks later in a state hospital. Diddy has denied his involvement in the shooting for which Knight has always blamed him.
