Nikki Blonsky found the spot light after landing the leading role of Tracy Turnblad in the film adaptation of Hairspray. She continued to land small gigs from there on. However, she needed to make money from somewhere in between acting auditions. Therefore, she decided to get a license in cosmetology. She now works full time as a hairstylist and make-up artist, in her hometown of Great Neck, New York.
