29. Nevada: Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe
Situated on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, Sand Harbor features incredibly clear, turquoise alpine waters set against a backdrop of smooth white granite boulders and towering pine forests. The water clarity allows kayakers and paddleboarders to see dozens of feet down to the rocky lakebed. During the summer, the gentle, sandy sloping beach is perfect for swimming, while the surrounding park hosts the famous Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
